This workshop provides an overview of role/security settings, reporting and iasWorld configuration, as well as detailed explanations on performing searches and user navigation and transactions.

Introduction to Spatialest, 9:45am – 10:45am (IAS, A)
This session provides a demonstration of the spatialest product and an explanation of how it fits into the iasWorld product strategy. spatialest offers a powerful user–friendly modeling interface that combines the visualization and spatial analytical function of GIS with more traditional techniques and functions of CAMA modeling, such as regression analysis. Attendees will gain an understanding of the internal spatialest data model, data transformations and exploratory data analysis by graphical and tabular means, model building and comparable sales valuation.

Searching for data in your database? iasWorld’s Property Records Management (PRM) tool is the place to start. Searching for property in iasWorld PRM is simple and can be done in a number of ways, from simple parcel identification number searches to advanced SQL searches. This session introduces participants to search options and provides tips on how to get the most out of each search.

This course details the features, setup and operation of the interface between IAS and Munis. Use of the batch interface, the real–time interface and a combination of the two will be discussed. Additional topics include: enhancements for IAS version 6 and Munis version 7, customer accounts, sales history, value details, exemptions and combined real estate/personal property accounts. This session provides detail on spatialest functionality for analyzing data, preparing new variables and viewing the results in GIS format. Histograms, pie charts and cross–plots will be created to illustrate the graphical tools available to the analyst and new variables will be created to create date of spline and age variables, as well as grouped variables.

Using Computed User–Defined Fields, 11:00am – 12:00pm (IAS, A)
Most users utilize user–defined fields in IAS to store data elements customized for their unique requirements. Less frequently used is functionality for defining new calculated values using these fields. Values can be used for a variety of purposes, including display on reports and screens, edits and inclusion in other calculations. During this session we demonstrate how to define user–defined fields computed from other data and how to set up the calculations, as well as how to use user–defined fields to modify other values.

With release 31 of iasWorld, online functionality previously provided by Oracle Forms is now available. During this session we compare the old and new interfaces, demonstrate where to find and how to use the new versions of various tasks and provide a short description of how the two interfaces differ.

This session focuses on model building, comparable sales selection and analysis. We will use the model builder wizard to build regression models “on–the–fly;” will demonstrate the ease of building comparable sales selection rules; will demonstrate GIS and internet map–based location of sales and subjects; and will address strategies for valuing larger jurisdictions.
